No Strings Attached

Can a woman and man just have sex and leave it at that? For some, maybe.  For others, nope, not at all - because it means more than they'll admit. Denial happens to all of us, and sometimes it takes just the right person to inspire courage in us.

Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher star in No Strings Attached, a comedy about two old friends who decide to become friends with benefits, and nothing more, only to find out they've really fallen in love with each other. For him, not a problem.  For her? Problems. Emma (Portman) has an immense fear of getting attached and getting hurt. Adam isn't allowed to stay over or have breakfast with her. It would be any guy's dream supposedly, but there are those you want to stay with and have breakfast with.

The plot is pretty straightforward with good subplots that all support the main story.  Both Portman and Kutcher do a great job apart and together, you're always rooting for them and know being the type of film it is that they will end up together.  Add in jokes (mostly sexual, a few not), you've got laughter and a good escape movie to hide out from the January blues and cold weather.

3.5/5
