Turtles on the Beach

Despite the sun shining brightly today, the cold still lingered in the air.  With many people heading off or thinking about a winter getaway, I highly suggest Hawaii if you've never been and can get a week off.  It's about a 5 hour flight from Vancouver to the most isolated landmass in the world, but every moment there is worth it.  Whether you're hanging out on the beach, walking in the rainforest, flying over active volcanoes or shopping in one of the many ABC stores, few will leave less happy than before.

On that note, here is my first of several posts on a Hawaiian trip, that hopefully will have us all thinking about warmth, sunshine, and relaxation.  Giant turtles are just one of the nice sights to see in Hawaii. They can be found just lying on the beaches.  From the North Shore of Oahu to the black sand beaches on the Big Island.  Do note that those in populated areas will be more protected with a rope around prevented people from getting too close.  Go to a less frequented beach and you can get up closer for a photo.

Of course, Hawaii isn't the only place to spot these brilliant creatures, but they're just one more nice thing about visiting.
