There must be a reason it's taking me a long time to recap travels - but whether it's wanting to draw it out to appease the travel bug or something else altogether is unknown. After Scotland, will come time for Ireland, London, and Las Vegas - perhaps by then I will be ready to depart once more for Europe and share more timely travel stories.
Going back to Scotland and the immensely fun Haggis Adventures "Highland Fling" tour, for you Harry Potter fans out there, is Glenfinnan Viaduct (aka the Harry Potter Train bridge). Many a times our guides have tricked us into thinking other bridges were the bridge, but at last, we were here. For the lucky ones who lingered in the hills, they were lucky enough to snap a photo with a train.
A jaunt through Inverlochy Castle and hike through the Great Glen or was it Glencoe? The names are a bit of a blur now, then to channel Mel Gibson's Braveheart cry "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM" before heading to Oban and a ceilidh for the night.
You can't go to Scotland and not partake in a ceilidh which was one of the perfect ways to end our last night together as a tour group, Scottish music and dancing, learning new steps and having fun. We headed to the Skippinish Ceilidh House and were also treated to several solo songs as well. www.skipinnish.com for those of you ever headed that way.
