Here I Am - Australia
Karen is an Aboriginal woman recently released from prison. It takes love and encouragement as she slowly finds hope in a bleak world after jail - staying in a shelter, seeing her young daughter again, finding that there are people who care. A good first feature about the perils of not only being an Aboriginal woman but an Aboriginal woman who was also in prison for drug use. Karen's determination for a better life and her resilience in going about it will have you rooting for her. Realistic acting from both the lead and the supporting cast through the help of dialogue and the production design.
