Shame

Michael Fassbender is Brandon Sullivan, a man with a sex addition whose life is turned upside when his sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment. Fassbender's performance has thus far garnered him a Golden Globe nomination and there are some talks of an Oscar nomination as well.  He and the film are candid and hold little back as time passes.

There isn't very much plot instead it's a character piece that speaks some truth about society today. Lonely and wanting to connect, but unable to connect, Brandon tries to engage in a normal relationship, but it's just not in him. Sadly the film's calibre would have increased even more with Brandon struggling more and dealing with life more and engaging in less mindless sex for the sake of it. Sissy for her part is her own lost soul needing her brother's attention. In the end, one can only hope that these siblings can find something meaningful before the credits roll. It is explicit so don't be too surprised - it is about a man with a sex addiction after all.
