Hanna

Saoirse Ronan is Hanna, a teenager who was born and trained to kill.  As we journey with her from Arctic like lands to the deserts of Morroco, through Spain to Germany, the story of a girl not very normal unfolds for us as her new world unfolds for her. Unknownst to her though, she killed a decoy, and the woman she was to kill is now after her and her father in order to finally exterminate a project that was to have ended years ago.

The darkness in her duty plays well opposite the joy we feel as Hanna discovers the world around her as she makes friends with a girl her age Sophie. The chuckles in her new experiences is refreshing not only for her but for the audience as well giving a fun breather before resuming the heavyness of the chase never forgotten. As the bodies pile up, we arrive at an end that is inevitable but not without meaning.

Ronan does a fantastic job with range from the cold hearted killer she was bred to be to the almost carefree teenager on her way to meet her father. Blanchette sends shivers down your spine with her ruthlessness though Bana tries his best to be a father in a script favoring time for his co-stars.

Visually stimulating with the various settings accompanied by a mix of ethnic and heavy beat music, this is one story you'll be drawn into.
