Abduction

Taylor Lautner stars as Nathan Harper aka Nathan Price who discovers his true identity - the son of a black ops agent - who goes on the run when he is chased by both another black ops agent and the CIA. The former as a leverage for something his father stole, the latter to protect him. A game of capture becomes a chase for an encrypted list of names of those who've sold state secrets that is actually in Nathan's possession. With his attractive neighbor by his side, the two elude everyone though they do voluntarily sit down to a meeting with the CIA. Unsure of whether the CIA is completely innocent, Nathan takes matters into his own hands to confront the black ops hunter. Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Mario Bello and Lily Collins round out the list of better known cast.

This thriller has a good story with some good fight sequences though some may argue there's a bit too much running. Lautner is launched into a world where overnight he's no longer a high school student, but a young man armed only with his wits and the fight skills his 2nd father insisted he learn. There are moments when his performance is reminiscent from his Twilight role, but at times you forget. Generally an entertaining film to watch that doesn't really drag in pacing either. Certainly not a piece that requires a lot of thinking on the audience's part, and more a film for certain audiences than the critics.
