Review: Happy Feet 2

Few would not have heard about Happy Feet 2, the sequel about a dancing penguin (voiced by Elijah Wood). In this installment, Mumble's colony is trapped when an iceberg smashes into their community, landlocking them. With no way to climb out and get to food, hope diminishes though the rescue of another group of penguins and dancing of course, eventually creates a way of escape.  The story line is quite simple, but the message rings out louder - no matter how small you are, even a plankton can change the world.

While a story of escape and survival on the surface, underneath is a touching father-son story where Mumble's young son Erik learns to admire his father for his tenacity and develop a love for dancing that he previously didn't have. Despite parents not always being right, Erik learns that his dad is right about some things - including that penguins cannot fly.

Fun, but more of a Penguin musical with dance numbers and songs that burst out at times when one would normally not sing. The 3D effects are good, and human nature in us will try to "pop" these bubbles that float out towards us.

3/5
